Concrete stamping and staining

Staining is the technique that is most probably very well known and is used to transform plain concrete into a much design-friendly and which is suitable for interior work applications.  Through this technique, a scrubby concrete slab is taken and stained enough to bring in a different color. Concrete stain is of two types, the common one of concrete stain being an acid stain.  Acid stain produces vibrant color.  The reaction of the acid to the concrete gives it a marbleized color resembling grainy leather.  It is tough to work on this since it demands much alertness and caution due to the application being acid in nature. This stain will not adjust the defects that are in the concrete.  On the other hand, it would point out the shortcomings, even the flaws that you had not noticed during the natural state of the concrete.

Water based stains and acrylic stains make many uniform looks than the acid stains.  They resemble the consistency of milk which allows them to leak through the pores of the concrete.  This distinguishes them from other concrete paint. Since there is a lack of chemical reaction in the midst of the concrete and the stain, its application mimics a dye.

Water based stains are generally known as concrete dyes. When working for outdoor, it is advisable to use a concrete sealer.  When working indoors, it is desirable to use wax application, something like the ones that are applied on a gym floor.

The benefit of integral color is this is exhaustive throughout the concrete.  Hence, even if the concrete is broken into chips, the color would stay all over the slab.
